Mr. John Faso, the former NYS Assembly Minority Leader, has been traveling the state in his race for Governor. He has a deep concern over rising school property taxes and believes we all feel that this tax is driving residents out of NY to places more affordable. He is offering a plan to cut property taxes by doubling the current STAR exemption, cap allowable increases in school property tax rates to 4% or to the rate of inflation, and provide for substantial relief from unfunded mandates.
