Hannon Hosts Hearing on Avian Influenza

Kemp Hannon along with Senator Balboni held a hearing about a potential avian influenza ("bird flu") pandemic in New York. Among those who testified were William Raub, Senior Scientific Advisor to the Secretary of Health and Human Services as well as a number of private and public health officials. As Health Committee Chair, Kemp Hannon is working to ensure New York has the capability to respond effectively to an avian flu outbreak as no one can truly predict if and when avian flu will emerge in the United States.

McKevitt Wins the 17th!

Residents were initially confused to see a young man ringing their door bell seeking support for an Assembly election in February. But all were charmed by Tom McKevitt as he urged them to remember to go to the polls and cast their vote in support of his candidacy. He shared that Maureen O'Connell was overwhelmingly elected to the position of County Clerk last November. Tom is now located next to Senator Kemp Hannon's office at 224 7th Street, Garden City. You can reach his office at 516-739-5119 should you need any information. Tom is looking forward to a busy year and plans to be around town often enough to become a recognized neighbor. His Mom works at St. Anne's School so we welcome Tom to the best place to be.
